Additions to jQuery Desktop

Description

I have been working on some additions to Nathan's jQuery Desktop project over the last couple of evenings. My main contribution will be a package manager that will allow you to "install" web based apps like Phoenix, the image editor from Aviary, as well as LastFM Radio which will allow you to play your last.fm radio station. I am loving this little project, nice work Nathan.

Wow, very impressive Mr. Davis. I don't see this (the original project, not yours) as something I would actually use, but I did download the source and pour through it just to learn how it was built. Very nice stuff, both of you.

Yeah I agree. This is more of an exploration of what is possible. I am planning on getting a cheapo netbook, install a really light version of linux on it and run this as my main desktop environs for awhile, just to see how it would work out. I love experiments for the fun of it!

If you can make Minecraft (www.minecraft.net) work here, that would be awesome. It is Java-based, however. Some have used that to make standalone clients. Chris, you might dig it. Allows you build structures with Lego-like blocks (various colors, etc.) in single player or multiplayer mode. It's slick and creative.
